My printer is not recognising the cartridge. What can I do?

When installing cartridges be sure to remove any tabs, wedges or covers that are on the inkjet / toner.

Do not pierce or remove the the plastic covering where the ink is released.

If all appropriate parts are removed and the cartridge still not recognise, please try the following steps:
1. Take the cartridge(s) out
2. Turn the printer off and unplug it for a few minutes
3. Wipe the chip on the cartridge(s) with a clean damp cloth/ tissue. If your new part does not have a chip, you may skip this step. 
4. Turn the printer back on
5. Re-install the cartridge

If the reset above does not work and you have a spare cartridge, please try the second cartridge.
