My new toner cartridge is not printing properly.

My new toner cartridge is not printing properly.

If you're having print quality issues with a toner, please try the following to see if the quality improves
  1. Gently shake the cartridge side to side so the toner is evenly distributed. We recommend doing this over a sink or some newspaper as some toner may sprinkle out.
  2. Check for any strips that need to be removed from the side of the toner. It's usually a bit of plastic that sticks out and can be pulled.
  3. Make sure there is enough toner in the cartridge. If there not enough toner in the cartridge, the printer will struggle to deposit enough toner onto the paper.
  4. Check the remaining life on all other consumables. Belt units, fusers and drum units are all important parts of the printing process. As the life of these units deplete the quality of the printing will also go down.
  5. Please ensure all maintenance is completed. Please refer to your user manual for instructions on how to clean the external and internal parts of the printer.

Brother Printers:
1. Take out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly.
2. Clean the corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the green tab from left to right several times.
3. Return the table to the home position (1). If you do not, printed pages will have a vertical stripe.
4. Reassemble the drum and toner.
5. Place the assembly back into the machine.
