How to Disable HP Printer Update to Prevent Inkjet Not Recognising
HP frequently releases firmware upgrades for printers that use the below compatible cartridges:
- HP965XL
- HP905XL
- HP909XL
- HP955XL
- HP915XL
Once the firmware has been accepted, it will lock out the Compatible cartridge's smart chip and block printing. Typically when this occurs, users may experience error messages similar to “Cartridge Error: cartridge appears to be missing or damaged” or “Cartridge Problem: the following ink tank can not be recognised”.
To prevent this happening, please disable the auto updates firmware for the printer by the following the below instructions.
